The two-day Training-cum-Orientation Workshop on “Feed formulation, preparation and demonstration for promoting trout fisheries in Eastern Himalayan Region” organized by ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Uttarakhand concluded on a successful note today.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with ICAR-National Research Centre on Yak, Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh and Department of Fisheries, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh at Dirang from 29th to 30th December - 2018.
The workshop marked the presence of Shri Adong Pertin, ADC, West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh as the Chief Guest of the occasion. During the occasion, Dr. P. Chakravarty, Director, NRC on Yak; Mr. Tenzing Jambey, CO Dirang; Dr. N.D. Singh, Head, KVK, Dirang; Dr. H. Kalita, JD, ICAR-NEH, Basar and Mr. Tagi Youngom, DDF were present as the Guests of Honor.
Dr. Debajit Sarma, Director, ICAR-DCFR, Bhimtal stressed on the establishment of a trout feed mill in Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with NRC on Yak. He also said that the venture would be beneficial for trout growers in the state.
During the workshop, a technical bulletin on “Rainbow Trout Nutrition and Feeding” was also released. The DCFR prepared starter and grow out trout feed was also distributed to farmers.
The workshop was attended a total of 200 fish farmers from districts of Tawang, West Kameng and Dibang valley including women fish farmers from the hilly regions.
