Krishi Samriddhi Mela-cum-National Workshop organized

 “Krishi Samriddhi Mela-cum-National Workshop” (28^th to 31^st December, 2018) jointly organised by the Dhanyaganga Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama (RKMA), Sargachhi was inaugurated here today.

In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest of the occasion, Dr. Ashish Banerjee, Minister Incharge, Department of Agriculture, Government of West Bengal underlined the major steps being initiated by the Government of West Bengal to increase the farmers’ income.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. A.K.Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) Delhi also accentuated the problems in agriculture at present perspective and ICAR’s initiatives being shouldered for the betterment of the farming community.

The Special Guest, Dr. P.K. Chakrabarty, Assistant Director General (Plant Protection & Bio-safety), ICAR, New Delhi discussed the concerns about the chemicals being used in excessive amounts and farmers’ unconsciousness regarding bio-pesticides.

Dr. S.S. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata stressed on the role being played by KVK and further extension of its roles in initiating further improvement of farming community in the near future.

Dr. S. Rajan, Director, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow and Shri  Musharaf Hossain, Sabhadhipati, Murshidabad Zilla Parishad were also present as Special Guests during the inaugural ceremony.

Earlier, Shri Swami Viswamayananda, Secretary, RKMA, Sargachhi and Chairperson of KVK welcomed all the dignitaries and briefed about importance of organizing such event.

Dr. A.K. Singh laid down the foundation stones of Farmers’ Hostel and Seed Hub Unit of Dhaanyaganga KVK, Sargachi in the presence of Swami Vishwamayananda and other dignitaries present during the occasion.

The National Workshop on Integrated Farming System (IFS) was held to prepare the road map make the farmers aware about IFS to promote and popularize the suitable IFS module. The national workshop registered a total footfall by around 1,500 farmers from Murshidabad and adjoining districts.
