The six-day long Skill Training Programme for the rural youths on “Pig Rearing and Management” organized by the ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tura, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya concluded today. The Programme was organized at the campus from 16th to 21st March, 2019.
The KVK, Tura organized the training programme in association with the State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Meghalaya and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad.
The participants were also provided with an exposure visit to the Pig Breeding Farm, Gindo, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya for the practical demonstrations.
The main aim of the Programme was to make the rural youths of Garo Hills capable for adopting the pig farming as the income generating activity.
