The ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack & M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Chennai jointly organized one-day Training Programme on Ricexpert Mobile App at Cuttack today.

The organizations also established a Village Knowledge Centre (VKC) at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Cuttack.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack stressed on the use of ICT tools like mobile app, decision support system in farming. He also outlined about the Ricexpert App developed by the Institute. Dr. Pathak urged the farmers for making the best use of the different applications of Ricexpert App.

In his address, at Village Knowledge Centre, Cuttack, Shri P.C. Sahoo, Deputy Director (Agriculture), Cuttack accentuated on using both print and electronic media to popularize the latest farming technologies suited to the local environment.
Around 40 Seed farmers from six villages under the two Districts of Odisha and Project Staff of RESILIENCE Project were imparted the training on the use of Ricexpert App.


The Senior Officials of ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack and MSSRF, Chennai along with the Officials of Agricultural Department participated in the programme.
