The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune and ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru jointly organized a three-day Capacity Building Training on “Advance in Horticultural Technologies” at Bengaluru from 4th to 6th July, 2019.
The training programme was organized for the Subject Matter Specialists (Horticulture) of 31 Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The aim of the training programme was to sensitize the participants on the advanced horticultural production technologies to disseminate in their respective Districts of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Dr. M.R. Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR remarked Maharashtra and Gujarat as the vibrant states as far as the adoption of horticultural production technologies are concerned. Dr. Dinesh urged the KVKs of the States for coming forward for adopting the advanced horticultural production technologies of ICAR-IIHR.
Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune urged the KVK experts for choosing the most workable horticultural technologies for the technology assessment and demonstration in the KVKs group. Dr. Singh also urged the KVKs for identifying the technologies that can be commercialized in their Districts. He also opined the ICAR-IIHR for providing the appropriate and latest technologies to prepare the inventory of horticultural technologies for Maharashtra and Gujarat.
