The ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow in collaboration with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, Hyderabad organized five-days National Training Course on “Doubling Farmers’ Income in Sugarcane Sector” from 16th to 20th July, 2019.
Around 15 Interactive and Practical Sessions were organized by the in-house and guest faculties. The various topics like cane varieties, planting methods, INM, Bio-agents for pests & disease management, water & cost saving irrigation methods, mechanization, entrepreneurship, inter-cropping, crop insurance, green financing, etc., were discussed during the Interactive Session.
Dr. A.D. Pathak, Director, IISR felicitated the participants with the Certificates.
The main aim of the training course was to sensitize and skill-up the Middle Level Officers of State Agricultural Department, Cane Development, Sugar Industry, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Universities in the potential areas for the entrepreneurship in the Sugarcane Sector.
A total of 25 officers representing 9 states (Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Jharkhand) participated in the training.
