Bioinformatics in Agriculture - National Workshop concludes at ICAR-NAARM

A “National Workshop on Bioinformatics in Agriculture” organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad concluded here today. The workshop was organized at the campus form 26^th to 27^th July, 2019.

During the workshop, the participants were provided with theory and hands-on practical sessions on various software and tools on the different topics related to the emerging requirements of bioinformatics tools in the agriculture and allied sectors.

The brainstorming sessions on four specific issues in bioinformatics, viz., constraints and opportunities in bioinformatics research; IPRs in bioinformatics; bioinformatics in teaching and education; data sharing, access and protection in bioinformatics research were also organized on the occasion.

Besides Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research, the resource persons from the National and State Government Institutions were also present for moderating the group discussions.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM felicitated the participants with the certificates.

A total of 22 participants from the various ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities participated in the Workshop.
