The ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar conducted an Awareness Programme on “Fish culture and health management” under the “My Village My Pride” Programme at Suando, Puri District, Odisha today.
Shri Dhirenath Das and Shri Rabindranath Das, the descendants of Pandit Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das (a renowned Social Activist) were present as the Guests of Honor on the occasion. Shri Dhirenath briefed about the villagers’ situations and the problems.
Dr. S.S. Mishra, Director, ICAR-CIFA stressed on adopting the chemical free aquaculture practices, maintenance of good water quality, stocking of quality seeds, quality feed and minimum interventions at the farm level for the sustainable income.
Shri Sridhar Biswal, Sarpanch, Suando; Shri Prassanna Kumar Bisoi (Fishery Officer, Retired); Shri Sushil Sahoo, Convener of RTI, Puri and Shri Biswajit Parida (Environmentalist) were also present during the occasion.
A total 110 farmers participated in the programme.
