The ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow organized two-day “Horti-preneurship Workshop - 2019” from 30th to 31st August, 2019.
The main aim of the workshop was to make the budding entrepreneurs aware about the horticultural approaches and their applications as an entrepreneur.
Dr. Ravi Pandey, Research Establishment Officer, IIT, Kanpur deliberated about the several schemes, such as, incubation of entrepreneurs with seed money, dead money and equity, etc.
During the Lecture-cum-Interactive Session, Dr. S. Rajan, Director, ICAR-CISH discussed about the ways to be adopted for protecting the product by IPR/TM/PBR.
Dr. Rajan stated that the horticultural entrepreneurship sector will be at the center-stage of innovation and lead India's journey towards overall transformation. He urged to make the ecosystem to focus on driving innovation, easy understanding of available technologies and provide digital infrastructure for enabling the real-time access to the farmers.
Dr. Jitendra, Project Manager, CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow mentioned about the related ethical guidelines.
The participants were also made aware about the NABARD’s programmes and schemes on subsidy, FPOs and start-ups.
The experts and scientists provided their insights on the DPR preparation, mushroom cultivation, organic farming, roof top gardening, hydroponics, nursery, value-addition of fruits and vegetables, etc., during the technical sessions.
The participants were also provided with the hands-on-training during the workshop.
More than 50 participants attended the workshop.
