International Training Programme for African Researchers on Cutting Edge Molecular and Bioinformatics Tools organized

24^th August, 2019 to 7^th September, 2019

The ICAR-Central Island Agriculture Research Institute, Port Blair organized an International Hands-on-Training on “Cutting edge Molecular and Bioinformatics tools for conservation and productivity enhancement of indigenous animal genetic resources” from 24^th August, 2019 to 7^th September, 2019.

The Short Term Training Programme (STTP) funded by the Ministry of External Affairs under the India-Africa Forum Summit - III is one among the 12 training programmes to be organized by the different ICAR Institutes this year.

Dr. Rafeeque. R. Alyethodi, Scientist, Animal Genetics and Breeding, Animal Science Division was the Course Director of the training programme.

The whole programme was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Dr. B. Gangaiah, Director, ICAR-CIARI.

Around 9 Delegates from 6 African countries namely Comoro (1), Eritrea (1), Kenya (3), Malagasy (1), Namibia (1) and Nigeria (2) participated in the training programme.
