The four day-long Training Course on “Soil & Water Conservation and Watershed Management” organized by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun concluded today. The Course was organized from 15th to 18th October, 2019.
In his Valedictory address, Dr. P.R. Ojasvi, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun emphasized on adopting the remote sensing and GIS tools for the watershed planning and implementation. Dr. Ojasvi also opined for the various policy level issues that needs to be included in the next generation watershed guidelines including the softwares and IT tools for monitoring and evaluation of watersheds.
Dr. Bankey Bihari, Head (Incharge), HRD & Social Science Division, ICAR-IISWC outlined the report of the refresher training course.
A total of 19 Officers from the various Departments of Agriculture, Agriculture Business, Soil Conservation, etc., participated in the programme.
