“Interface Meet on AnGR for Haryana State” organized

The ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Haryana organized the State Interface Meet for Haryana under the “Mission towards Zero Non-Descript AnGR of India” today.

Delivering his address, Dr. V.K. Saxena, ADG (AP&B), ICAR stressed on specifying the distinguishable characters of all the native breeds. The use of advanced reproductive technologies like cloning of elite bulls for increasing the productivity of the native breeds was also emphasized by Dr. Saxena.

Dr. (Major) V.S. Rathi, Credit Planning Officer, Animal Husbandry Department, Government of Haryana appreciated the Bureau’s efforts in initiating the important mission.

Dr. T.K. Datta, Director, ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Hisar, Haryana stressed on the need of larger data recording for Bull evaluation by the State.

Dr. Yash Pal, Director, ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar, Haryana accentuated on the conservation and propagation of Equine & Donkey population in the state.

Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. B.P. Mishra, Director, ICAR-NBAGR, Karnal underlined the overall scenario of the AnGR and described the strategies to document the Non-Descript AnGR in country.

The Meet registered participation by 127 participants from ICAR, Lala Lajpatrai University of Veterinary & Animal Science and, Animal Husbandry Department, Government of Haryana, etc.
