The ICAR-Indian Institute of Natural Resins & Gums, Ranchi, Jharkhand virtually organized the “Institute - Natural Resins & Gums Stakeholders’ Meet” on the Theme “Enhancing Value-addition and Domestic Consumption of Lac and other Natural Resins & Gums” today. The Meet was organized in collaboration with the Shellac & Forest Products Export Promotion Council (SHEFEXIL), Kolkata.
Dr. K.K. Sharma, Director, ICAR-IINRG, Ranchi highlighted the importance of quality of the products and price rationalization for healthy trade of the commodity. He regarded the value-addition of the NRG Products before export and the coordination among the industries, stakeholders, government organization and line departments as essential for the development of the NRG sector.
Dr. Debjani Roy, Executive Director, SHEFEXIL, Kolkata stressed on the need for export of more value-added products to earn more foreign exchange and generate employment in the country.
A total of 120 participants including the Stakeholders from Industry side, Farmers, State Line Departments, TRIFED, JASCOLAMPF, SHEFEXIL, ICAR Institutes, State Agricultural Universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, etc., participated in the Meet.
