The ICAR- National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata celebrated its 84th Foundation Day today.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management & Agricultural Engineering), ICAR applauded the Institute for its achievements in the area of natural fibres.
In his Foundation Day Lecture, Dr. S.N. Jha, ADG (PE), ICAR hailed for the consistent achievements of the Institute over the Years.
Earlier in his welcome address Dr. D.B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata briefed about the Institute’s journey and its footprint impacts on the livelihood of the farmers and the stakeholders.
Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore, Kolkata emphasized on the collaborative research to yield the best results through a practical synergy.
Dr. A. Sahoo, Director, ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner, Rajasthan stressed on the application of natural fibres in the area of biomedical science and cosmetics fields.
The programme encompassed with release of new books, technical bulletins and training calendar for the year 2022. The office staff, farmers and the artisans were awarded for their best performances. Meritorious students and sports winners were also awarded on the occasion.
The event registered participation by the Institute’s Former Employees; Jute Farmers, Small Scale Entrepreneurs, Jute Mill Personnel; Jute and Textile Organizations and Institutes, Stakeholders and 28 Students from Banaras Hindu University.
