CAU, CHF celebrates National Mushroom Day - 2021

The Central Agricultural University, (Imphal), celebrated the National Mushroom Day – 2021 under the theme (Mushroom for complete agro-waste management) with the Mushroom based Entrepreneurs, SHGs, Tribal women and Students at College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat Arunachal Pradesh today.

Dr R. C. Shakywar, Principal Investigator, All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Mushroom Pasighat apprised the participants about the employment opportunities in the Mushroom for complete agro-waste management, especially, for the tribal Youths and Students.

He was also highlighted the importance of mushroom in food & nutritional security, complete agro-waste management through mushroom cultivation among the students and farmers.

The participants were showcased the technology protocol for the mushroom spawn production and value addition in oyster mushroom and marketing potential.

About 50 (43 tribal women and 07 men) mushroom growers, students, faculty and Staff Members of the College has participated in the programme.
