Review Meeting of Farmers’ FIRST Programme organized

FFP-atari-01.jpgThe ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata organized the “Review Meeting of Farmers’ FIRST Programme (FFP)” pertaining to three ICAR Institutes and one State Agricultural University from Odisha State today. The Meeting was organized in collaboration with the Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar.

The Chief Guest, Prof. P.K. Roul, Dean of Extension Education, OUAT. Professor Roul stressed upon the frequent field visits and interaction among the scientists and farmers for quick addressing of the problems in the farmers’ fields. He urged for considering the farmers’ innovations and accordingly, modifying the technologies for better yield / production.

Dr. S.S. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI Kolkata emphasized upon the quantification of data in favor of any good agricultural technologies; livelihood income mapping considering five capitals like human capital, social capital, natural capital, physical capital and financial capital, etc. He also stressed upon to document and spread the viable technologies through the various publications.

The brochures on Farmers’ FIRST Programme developed by the OUAT, Bhubaneswar and ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar were released during the occasion.

The main objective of the meeting was to review the physical and financial progress during the Year - 2019-20.

The senior officials of various ICAR Institutes attended the meeting.
