ADG (Agronomy, Agroforestry & Climate Change), ICAR visits ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur

Dr. Surya Narayan Bhaskar, ADG (Agronomy, Agroforestry & Climate Change), ICAR visited the ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh from 18th to 19th October, 2021.

During his visit to the Field Experiments and Research Farm, Dr. Bhaskar monitored the field experiments and laboratories. While interacting with the Directorate’s Staff Members, the ADG stressed on the need of basic and strategic research in weed science and urged for avoiding duplication in the research with the other ICAR Institutes.

On visiting the farmers’ fields under the “Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav” Programme, he also interacted with more than 60 farmers. The ADG also monitored the demonstrations on the weed management in conservation agriculture-based Rice-wheat-Moong-Bean Cropping System.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. J.S. Mishra, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur apprised the ADG about the Directorate’s ongoing research activities and development of the Research Farm.
