ICAR-CIBA organizes National Training Programme on “Aquaculture Nutrition and Feed Bio-Technology”

ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai organized the ten-day National Hands-on-Training Programme on “Aquaculture Nutrition and Feed Bio-Technology” from 27th February to 7th March, 2020.

During his interaction with the trainees, Dr. K.K. Vijayan, Director, ICAR-CIBA stressed on the need for Public Private Partnership (PPP)  involving the private players and Institutions, such as, ICAR-CIBA in scaling-up of the desi feed technologies for the sustainable development of the sector and also to increase the profitability of the farmers.

In his valedictory address, Dr. S.V. Alavandi, Director In-charge, ICAR-CIBA felicitated the participants with the certificates.

Earlier, briefing about the training programme, Dr. K. Ambasankar, Head, Nutrition Section, ICAR-CIBA applauded the participants for taking interest in the training and further translating the skills to the field.

The specialized programme offered the skill development in indigenous aqua feed processing, related feed bio-technologies and feed management for the sustainable brackishwater aquaculture.

A total of 20 participants from different segments of aquaculture, such as, farm managers, farm owners, feed mill technicians, academicians, students and entrepreneurs from the various parts of the country participated in the programme.
