The ICAR-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana organized a Programme on “Balanced use of fertilizers in crops” today.
In his address, Dr. P.C. Sharma, Director, ICAR-CSSRI, Karnal highlighted the importance of soil testing, Soil Health Card, balanced use of fertilizers in crops and cost & productivity management.

A group of 35 farmers from Rindal Village, Karnal attended the Awareness-cum-Training Programme. The farmers were apprised about the ways to take representative soil samples for testing, applying balanced dose of fertilizers, drip fertigation and application of organic resources for improving the crop productivity and soil resilience.
The pulse inter-cropping for soil fertility and crop residue management was also demonstrated to the farmers during the occasion. Depending on soil stress, the farmers were provided with the Agro-Advisories on soil and crop management in view of the organic and inorganic sources.
More than 50 stakeholders participated in the event.
