Virtual Training Programme on “Soil Testing and Nutritional Recommendation for Agricultural Crops” concludes @Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav

The four-day Virtual Training Programme on “Soil Testing and Nutritional Recommendation for Agricultural Crops” jointly organized by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal & State Institute of Agricultural Extension & Training (SIAET), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from 27th to 30th July, 2021 concluded today.

In his valedictory address, Dr. Ashok K. Patra, Director, ICAR-IISS, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh accentuated on the importance of soil testing in maximizing the crop yield, soil health, animal health and human health by using 4Rs (Right source of fertilizer, at the right rate, at the right time and in the right place) nutrient management concept. He regarded the soil test-based balance and integrated nutrient management as the key for maintaining the crop production, soil fertility and soil health.

Around 30 Assistant Soil Testing Officers and Assistant Soil Survey Officers of the Government of Madhya Pradesh from the different parts of the State participated in the training programme.

The programme was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
