ICAR-NAARM organizes Virtual Training Programme on Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy for Students of PJNCARI, Puducherry

The a-IDEA, Agri-Business Incubator of the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized an “Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy Training Programme in Agriculture for the students of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute (PJNCARI), Karaikal, Puducherry today.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Shamarao Jahagirdar, Dean, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute, Karaikal stressed for bringing the reforms in Agricultural Education Policy with the choice-based credit system for the students who choose Entrepreneurship as their profession.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad emphasized on conversion of agriculture produce to the value-added products. He also underlined the need of the students to work in team for the conversion of agricultural products to the market ready products.

Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the need for reorienting the agriculture course curriculum in the lines of Entrepreneurship.

Dr. N.A. Vijay Avinashilingam, Additional CEO, a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad stressed on the need for encouraging the Start-Up industry in the country to reduce the unemployment crisis.

Shri Deepak Rajamohan, CEO, Greenpodlabs.com & an Entrepreneur in developing an active packaging to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables shared his experiences towards becoming a successful Entrepreneur.

The training programme was aimed at improving the Entrepreneurship in the agriculture sector.

About 490 students and faculty members virtually participated in the programme.
