ICAR-NAARM organizes Virtual Training Workshop for “Vigilance Officers of ICAR Institutes”

16 - 18 August 2021, Hyderabad

The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized the three-day Virtual Training Workshop for “Vigilance Officers of ICAR Institutes” from 16th to 18th August, 2021.

In his inaugural address, Shri Shaleen Agrawal, Director (DARE) & CVO (DARE & ICAR) advised the Vigilance Officers to take a major role on Preventive Vigilance Mechanism rather than Post Vigilance Activities. He also emphasized that the Vigilance Officers have to see that the process adopted in purchase and other developmental activities of the Organization is in a transparent manner.

In his valedictory address, Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the Vigilance Officers’ roles in creating credentials of the Institutions. He also urged the participants to take suitable measures for ensuring vigilance in the administrative process and for effective good governance in the ICAR Institutes.

During the Webshop, the participants were sensitized on the different vigilance management activities like preventive vigilance, duties and responsibilities of Vigilance Officers, disciplinary procedures, recruitment process, RTI and purchase procedures, etc.

A total of 42 Vigilance Officers from the various ICAR Institutes participated in the Webshop.
