Training Programme on “Mechanized Weed Management” organized

1 - 3 November, 2021, Jabalpur

The ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh organized a Virtual Training Programme on “Mechanized Weed Management in different Field Crops” from 1^st to 3^rd November, 2021.

In his inaugural address, Dr. S. Bhaskar, ADG (Agronomy, Agroforestry & Climate Change), ICAR outlined the importance of weed management in agriculture and aquatic bodies. The need for mechanization in weed management in the organic agriculture, horticulture & plantation crops and aquatic system was also stressed by Dr. Bhaskar.

Dr. J.S. Mishra, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur briefed about the current issues with herbicide use and the recent advances made in the mechanized weed management including herbicide spraying techniques.

A total of 134 participants participated in the training programme.
