The a-IDEA of ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized a two-day National Entrepreneurship Ideation Competition - “Aggnite” from 24th to 25th September, 2021.
The Chief Guest, Shri Y. Krishna Rao, CGM, NABARD, Telangana R.O. stressed on the need for promoting Entrepreneurship to solve the major challenges faced by the Indian agricultural sector. He emphasized on the huge multiplier effect of the investment in Agri-Start-Ups that can bring disruptive changes in the livelihood of farmers and rural community.
The Guest of Honor, Shri Vasudevan Chinnathambi, Co-Founder, Ninjacart provided the valuable tips to the students for succeeding in their Entrepreneurial endeavours.
Earlier, in welcome address, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad outlined the ICAR’s various efforts in showcasing the contributions of Agri-Start-Ups. The role of ICAR-NAARM in fostering the Agri-Start-Ups’ growth and guiding them to become successful business ventures was also highlighted by Dr. Rao.
Dr. Ranjit Kumar, Head, ABM accentuated on the need of strong linkages among the Agribusiness Educational Institutions, Start-Ups and Corporates.
Ms. Smita Mohanty, GM, NABARD delivered a Talk on the various NABARD Schemes for promoting the FPOs and Start-Ups.
Dr. Sivaramane N., CEO of a-IDEA, TBI of ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad was also present during the occasion.
The Competition’s main objective was to stimulate Entrepreneurship among the students.
A total of 211 Teams from 150 Top Institutes in the country, viz., Agricultural Universities, IITs, IIMs and other renowned Institutions participated in the event.
