The “29th Annual Group Meeting of ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants & Betelvine (AICRP-MAP&B)” was organized from 2nd to 4th December, 2021.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Horticultural Science), ICAR highlighted the importance of Good Agricultural Practices for ensuring the quality of herbal drugs. The alignment of research programmes with the developmental missions of the country was emphasized by Dr. Singh.
Dr. Vikramaditya Pandey, ADG (Horticultural Science), ICAR stressed on the need for creating awareness on the health benefits of the Medicinal & Aromatic Plants including Betelvine (MAP&B).
Dr. Brajesh Kumar Pandey, Assistant Director General (Hort. Science), ICAR underlined the vital role of MAPs in ensuring the health and livelihood security. The need of conservation of the genetic resources of MAP for the country’s prosperity was emphasized by Dr. Pandey.
Dr. Satyajit Roy, Director, ICAR-DMAPR & Project Coordinator, ICAR-AICRP on MAP&B highlighted the research achievements of the AICRP-MAP&B for the past one year and the Actions Taken Report for implementing the technical programme of the Project.
Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. R. Nagaraja Reddy, Nodal Officer, ICAR-AICRP on MAP&B outlined the main objectives of the Project.
More than 70 participants attended the Meeting.
