ICAR-CIAE organizes ICAR-Winter School on “Recent Advances in Electronic Devices, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Precision Agriculture”

The ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh has virtually organized the 21-day ICAR-Winter School on “Recent Advances in Electronic Devices, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Precision Agriculture” from 1st to 21st February, 2022.

In his address, Dr. S.N. Jha, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Engineering), ICAR stressed on the need of training in the area of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, deep learning for smart and digital agriculture. The DDG urged the participants for utilizing the knowledge gained during the training programme for the further development of their expertise in the area of precision farming and also help the Indian farmers in reducing the cultivation cost.

Dr. Kanchan Kumar Singh, ADG (Farm Engineering), ICAR highlighted the importance of precision agriculture in the production and post-production agriculture for ensuring the precise input applications using advance tools and techniques.

Dr. C.R. Mehta, Director, ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal underlined the importance of the farm mechanization with special reference to precision farming and automation in agriculture for reducing the farm drudgery and completing the farm operations in time.

The main objective of the Winter School is to recognize the importance and need of precise & optimum use of agricultural inputs for reducing the cultivation cost along with the conservation of the natural resources.

A total of 44 participants are participating in the Winter School.
