National Workshop-cum-Field Day on “Enhancing the Production and Productivity of Maize and Oilseeds in NEH Region” concludes

The National Workshop-cum-Field Day on “Enhancing the Production and Productivity of Maize and Oilseeds in NEH Region” organized by the ICAR-Research Complex for North-Eastern Hill Region, Nagaland Centre from 16^th to 18^th February, 2022 concluded today.

The Workshop was jointly organized in collaboration with the ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseed Research, Hyderabad and ICAR-Indian Institute of Maize Research, Ludhiana, Punjab.

Dr. V.K. Mishra, Director, ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam stated that the NEH Region could play a big role in achieving the self-sufficiency in the Oilseeds.

Dr. M. Sujata, Director, ICAR-IIOR, emphasised on adopting the location-specific varieties with high yielding potential.

Dr. Sujay Rakshit, Director, ICAR-IIMR outlined the various initiatives that will be taken-up for propagating the improved Maize production technologies in the region on a mission mode.

The Senior Officials of ICAR Institutes, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, State Agricultural Universities and State Agricultural Departments along with 100 farmers from the various Districts participated in the Workshop.
