The ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, Kolkata organized a “Stakeholder’s Meeting for Sustainable Management of Fisheries” today.
In his address, Dr. B.K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore, encouraged the stakeholders for coming forward with the Institute’s support for improving the fisheries activities to ensure their livelihood security in a sustainable way.
The Women Beneficiaries from Sriniketan, Birbhum District of West Bengal and Beneficiaries from Sagar Island, Gosaba and Palot Ghat of Sundarban, West Bengal shared their success in achieving the greater production and profit from fisheries activities during the occasion.
The main objective of the Meeting was to deliberate with the stakeholders on the prospects and benefits under the Scheduled Tribe Component for their greater involvement in the fisheries activities and harness maximum productivity & profitability.
The Meeting organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence registered participation by 76 Stakeholders (57 Women and 19 Male) from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat and Kerala.
