Skill Development Training Programme on “Backyard Poultry Farming” concludes at ICAR-NAARM

The three-day Training Programme on “Backyard Poultry Farming” organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad from 14^th to 16^th March, 2022 concluded here today. The programme was organized under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Yagantipalle, Andhra Pradesh for the Scheduled Caste Women.  

Delivering the valedictory address, Dr. M. Balakrishnan, Chairman, Sub-Plan Committee, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad briefed the participants about the SC Sub Plan Programme and its implementation. Dr. Balakrishnan also encouraged them to adopt the Backyard Poultry Farming as an income generation activity.

Smt. Dhanalakshmi, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Yagantipalle highlighted that the backyard poultry farming can enhance the family income as it involves low-cost investment but, provides higher economic returns.

Around 40 Women from three Villages, viz., Vemulapadu, Kalugotla and Meerapuram of Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh participated in the programme.
