The ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya; National Institute of Plant Health Management, Hyderabad and APEDA, Guwahati, Assam jointly organized the Training Programme on “Export Promotion of Agriculture and Horticulture Commodities in North-Eastern States” for the benefit of the farmers, sellers and exporters of Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya here today.


The NIPHM, Hyderabad’s Scientists underlined the plant quarantine and phyto sanitary measures to be undertaken for ensuring the production of the disease and pests free plants for the export promotion. The procedures to obtain the phyto sanitary certificates, hot water treatment of fruits, Vapor Heat Treatment, cold treatment, wooden packaging material and Irradiation technologies, etc., were discussed during the Programme.
The Programme registered participation by about 50 farmers, sellers and exporters of the District.
