Virtual Training Programme on “Accrual Accounting” concludes at ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack

The Virtual Training Programme on “Accrual Accounting” organized by the ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Odisha in collaboration with the Finance Division and Human Resource Management (HRM) Unit of ICAR concluded today. The training programme was organized from 26th to 30th July, 2021.

In his address, Dr. A.K. Vyas, Assistant Director General (Human Resource Management) & Training Manager, ICAR emphasized on the positive atmosphere, belief, faith and working attitude at work place for incorporating the latest development, achieving skill upgradation and keeping everyone upto date to the changing technologies.

Shri G.P. Sharma, Director (Finance), ICAR stressed on the need for training and updating the Administrative Personnel of ICAR on Accrual Accounting, which is an essential component for accounting.

The Deputy Directors (Finance); Shri S.K. Pathak, Comptroller, ICAR-IVRI; Shri V.R. Srinivasan, Comptroller, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi; Shri D.D. Verma, Comptroller, ICAR-NDRI, Karnal; Smt. Sunita Arya, CF&AO, ICAR-CAZRI, Jodhpur and Shri Kanhaiya Chaudhary, Former Director (Special Duty), ICAR Headquarters and other resource persons also participated in the programme.

Dr. D. Maiti, Director, ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Odisha highlighted the ICAR’s HRM Training Policy of ICAR in general and the importance of Human Resource Development in particular. He also stressed on the need for developing professionals amongst the Finance & Accounts Officers and Administrative Officers in the ICAR system.

The basic and advanced levels of Accrual Accounting like Principles and Concepts, Accounting Standards, Significant Accounting Policies, Preparation of Final Accounts, Depreciation & Reserves, Computerised Accounting through TSA/PFMS, GFR, GST, Income Tax, Audit Report of an Annual Account of ICAR, etc., were discussed during the programme.

The programme was aimed at enriching the knowledge, developing professionalism and enhancing competency of the Administrative and Finance Officials working in the ICAR Headquarters and Institutes.

A total of 42 Administrative and Finance Officials including Assistant Finance & Accounts Officers, Finance & Accounts Officers, Assistant Administrative Officers and other Officers from 17 States / Union Territories from 33 ICAR Institutes and Headquarters virtually participated in the programme.
