IFS Model Village Development under STC (TSP) Project at Maova Village, Nagaland

The ICAR-Research Complex for North-Eastern Hill Region, Umiam, Meghalaya in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dimapur, Nagaland launched the IFS Model Village Development through integration of the different agricultural enterprises at Maova Village, Dimapur under the Scheduled Tribes Component.

Dr. V.K Mishra, Director, ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam outlined the role and responsibility of the various Agricultural Research Institutes for the agricultural development in the region. He encouraged the farmers and scientists to come together with zeal for developing a smart village.

Shri Zhaleo Rio, Advisor, Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Government of Nagaland urged the farmers, state officials and scientists for working together in pursuit of the common goal of achieving the sustainable food production and livelihood improvement.

Earlier, in the welcome address, Dr. D.J. Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre highlighted the importance of IFS mode of intervention for agricultural development in the North-East. He also stressed on the need for the integration of agricultural enterprises for the inclusive development of agriculture sector in the region.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Medziphema; Commissioner & Secretary, Sericulture and Excise; Village Head, Chairman of Village Council along with the Farmers and Staff Members of the ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre and KVK, Dimapur participated in the programme.
