Virtual Training Programme on “Pomegranate Production Technology” organized

Dr. Ashok Dhawan, Vice-Chancellor, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani, Maharashtra inaugurated a three-day Virtual Training Programme on “Pomegranate Production Technology” organized by the ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra today.

The programme has been organized in collaboration with the ICAR-National Research Centre on Pomegranate, Solapur, Maharashtra from 21st to 23rd April, 2021.

Virtual Training Programme on “Pomegranate Production Technology” organized

The importance of providing the quality planting material to pomegranate growers for higher production of Pomegranate was highlighted in Dr. Dhawan’s inaugural address. He also urged the participants and other Agricultural Institutes for developing the nurseries to provide the farmers with the quality planting materials.

Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune, Maharashtra highlighted the significance of processing and value-addition of Pomegranate. He regarded the adoption of Pomegranate’s scientific cultivation as a medium to realize the vision of doubling the farmers’ income.

Dr. Jyotsana Sharma, Director, ICAR-National Research Centre on Pomegranate, Solapur, Maharashtra outlined the various technologies of Pomegranate. She also guided the farmers on integrated disease management in Pomegranate crops.
