The ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, Uttarakhand virtually organized a National Webinar on “Sustainable Livelihood and Nutritional Security under Changing Climate in the North-Western Himalayan Region: Issues, Challenges and Strategies” from 19th to 20th March, 2021.

National Webinar on “Sustainable Livelihood and Nutritional Security under Changing Climate in the North-Western Himalayan Region: Issues, Challenges and Strategies” organizedIn his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR highlighted the importance of the Webinar.

The Hill Agriculture: Status, challenges and strategies to strengthen climate-resilience and livelihood security, Technologies for productivity enhancement, resource conservation and income generation, Socio-economic concerns in technological spread in hill agriculture, Issues in Marketing, entrepreneurship & policy making and Migration and wild animal menace were among the topics discussed in the 5 Technical Sessions held during the occasion.

The various ICAR Publications were also released on the occasion.

A total of 452 participants including Students, Faculty Members of the State Agricultural Universities, Scientists, Entrepreneurs and Progressive Farmers virtually participated in the Webinar.
