28th February, 2021
The National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February, 2021 every year to commemorate the invincible achievements and contributions of Sir C.V. Raman, Great Indian Physicist. For his discovery of Raman Effect, Dr. Raman was honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
Since then, every year the day felicitates the scientists for their contributions in the various fields of science.
ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Dehradun, Uttarakhand
The Institute celebrated the “National Science Day” on the theme “Future of STI: Impacts of Education, Skills and Work” today.

Dr. R.S. Yadav, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun, Uttarakhand stressed on the facts of life about Sir C.V. Raman. He also highlighted how confidence and self believe is the key to succeed in your scientific endeavors.
ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha
The Chief Guest, Dr. P.P. Mathur, Vice-Chancellor, Birla Global University & Former Vice-Chancellor, KIIT University briefed about the present scenario for Indian researches with context to publication and its impact. He also urged the scientists to not only publish impactful papers, but also strive to achieve the patents.
Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director of the Institute highlighted the importance of conserving the soil, water and air for a better future.
The Institute also organized the “1st Virtual Technology Demonstration Mela” for the benefit of the farm women and students.
The programme registered participation by more than 60 participants including progressive farm women, students of Universities across the country and the staff members of the Institute.
ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad
The Institute organized a wide array of different events namely Essay Writing and Poster Design Competitions, etc., to mark the celebrations of “National Science Day - 2021”.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, of the Institute emphasized that the importance of science is realized across the world due to COVID-19 Pandemic. He highlighted the role of science, technology and innovation. Dr. Rao also felicitated the winners of the competitions organized during the occasion.
ICAR-Vivekanand Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, Uttarakhand
The Institute celebrated the National Science Day - 2021 with the students of Government Inter College, Hawalbagh, Almora, Uttarakhand.
The Chief Guest, Shri Ajay Tamta, Member of Parliament, Almora Constituency, Uttarakhand apprised the students about the various schemes and Start-Ups launched by the Government of India to promote science & technology, where youngsters can make their careers. He also appreciated the Institute’s work for making its excellent contribution in hill agriculture.
Dr. L. Kant Director, ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, Uttarakhand delivered the welcome address.
ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad
The Chief Guest, Dr. Ashok Dalwai, I.A.S., C.E.O., NRAA delivered a Lecture on the theme and eloquently covered the topic by linking the past Indian history. He urged to make use of innovations and work towards self-employment.

Dr. V.K Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad highlighted the genesis of National Science Day and importance of incorporating science in everyday life. He also underlined the contributions made by scientists for the progress of the nation.
