16 - 17 March, 2021, Bhubaneswar
The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha organized the two-day Training-cum-Skill Development Programme on “Bee-Keeping under Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan” from 16th to 17th March, 2021. The programme was organized for the farm women of Baral, Chaudabatia and Harisankarpur Villages of Puri District.
For the socio-economic upliftment, the trained farm women were provided with around 40 Honey Bee Boxes as Critical Inputs during a programme organized on 5th April, 2021.
The main objective of Bee-keeping is to motivate the farm women for taking it as an enterprise, most suited to the landless people or with small holdings. It does neither require continuous labor nor heavy investments. It provides multi-source income and improves crop yields through cross-pollination.
