ICAR-CRIDA celebrates 37th Foundation Day

The ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad celebrated its 37th Foundation Day today.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management), ICAR regarded the ICAR-CRIDA’s Contingency Plans as the proud contribution for the NRM Division and ICAR. He also urged the scientists for up-scaling the technologies by working with the various State Governments. The DDG stressed on working on ecosystem management including livestock and range management.

Dr. S. Bhaskar, ADG (AAF&CC), ICAR applauded the Institute’s commendable works and efforts in bringing out the location-specific doable technologies considering the soil and rainfall conditions of the region. He also highlighted the ICAR-CRIDA’s work that has resulted in developing many models of watershed management. The ADG stressed on the need of District Agriculture Adaptation Plans to be implemented in the coming times.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA stated that the ICAR-CRIDA has been a knowledge partner to the various national and international organizations. The Institute’s achievements during the last year were also highlighted by the Director. He also emphasized on the Institute’s contribution towards skill development and capacity building for the farmers and other stakeholders.

The various ICAR Publications were also released during the occasion.

The Institute’s staff members also participated in the event.
