ICAR-NRC on Meat celebrates 14th Foundation Day

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad celebrated its “14th Foundation Day” today.

In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) V. Ravinder Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, P.V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University, Hyderabad applauded the Centre’s efforts in the sustainable development of the meat sector in the country.

Dr. Suresh S. Honnappagol, Chairman, QRT and Former Animal Husbandry Commissioner & Former Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Science University, Bidar, Karnataka was the Guest of Honor of the occasion. He applauded the Centre’s scientific interventions and entrepreneurship development activities. He opined for carrying out a SWOT analysis of the Centre to further excel and achieve the set goals.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. Subeer S. Majumdar, Director, National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad delivered the “Foundation Day Lecture” on “Gene based manipulation for value-addition to livestock”.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. S.B. Barbuddhe, Director, ICAR-NRC on Meat, Hyderabad highlighted the Centre’s activities and achievements in the past year. He outlined the commendable work carried out by the Centre to continue the betterment of the meat sector in the country during the harsh times of COVID-19 Pandemic as well.
