Brainstorming Session on “Automation in Agricultural Engineering” organized

The ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Regional Centre, Coimbatore organized a Virtual Brainstorming Session on “Automation in Agricultural Engineering” today.

In his inaugural address, Dr. C.R. Mehta, Director, ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh highlighted the importance and the need of automation in agricultural engineering in the global / Indian context and the way forward.

The occasion marked the delivery of 5 Invited Talks by the experts working in the area followed by discussion to identify the areas of immediate attention and the way forward for automation in agriculture for small landholding.

The main objective of the session was to discuss the status and need of automation in agricultural engineering and the way forward to enhance the input use efficiency and reduce drudgery of agricultural workers.

About 85 invited experts, scientists, faculty members from the various ICAR Institutes, State Agricultural Universities, Principal Investigators of various All India Coordinated Research Projects, AICTE Approved Institutions and Deemed Universities virtually participated in the session.
