ICAR- Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana, participated in the Dissemination Summit 2024 held under the STREE Program. The event was organized by GT Bharat and HDFC Parivartan at Guru Nanak Bhawan in Ludhiana, today.
The Chief Guest, S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Union Minister of Agriculture, Govt of Punjab, emphasised the role of processing activities in the production catchment by the Farmer Producer Organization members. The Minister highlighted the potential of adopting diverse agricultural practices, asserting that such approaches could lead to a two-fold increase in farmers' income, ensuring sustainability and livelihood.
Shri. D.P.S. Kharbanda IAS, DIC Punjab, Dr. Hanuman Jat, Director, ICAR- Indian Institute of Millets Research, Ludhiana, Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Head ToT, & PI-ABI ICAR-CIPHET, was also present during the programme.
About 1000 women FPO members and entrepreneurs from the region attended the programme.
