ICAR-CRIDA organises a short course on “Recent advances in root architectural sampling and monitoring tools

ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad organised a 10-day short course on recent advances in root architectural sampling and monitoring tools for root analysis in rainfed agriculture from 24th January - 2nd February 2024.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Rajbir Singh, Assitant Director General (Agronomy, Agroforestry and Climate Change) emphasised the importance of roots in climate resilience during the inaugural session.

The Chief Guest for the valedictory session, Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, said that the root studies should be integrated with above-ground observation and should be interpreted in terms of economic yield.

Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, emphasised the necessity of root architectural studies in dryland agriculture.

About 25 participants from all over the country participated in the programme.
