ICAR- Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Pune, organised its 3rd Industry-Academia Interface meet today in Pune (Maharashtra), with an objective to bridge the gap between the university researchers and the industries to facilitate faster development and dissemination of technologies from lab to end user and collaboration in postgraduate teaching and research.
Dr. Triveni Dutt, Director-cum-Vice-Chancellor, ICAR-IVRI, extended an invitation to the industry for collaborative efforts, including contract research and public-private partnerships. He urged industry participation in CSR-funded initiatives aligned with ICAR guidelines, emphasising on the mutual benefits of supporting teaching and research infrastructure development, and extension and social welfare activities.
Dr. Hemant Vasekar (IAS), Commissioner of Animal Husbandry, Maharashtra, spoke about the significance of the events for all stakeholders and the contemporary challenges confronting the livestock sector. He urged all the delegates to collaborate effectively for the collective betterment of livestock farmers across India.
Joint Directors and Heads of ICAR-IVRI were also present in the meeting.
A Panel Discussion and Interaction between industry representatives and scientists from ICAR-IVRI was held.
A total of 64 representatives from 33 industries, 90 virtual participants attended the meeting.
