ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management, Raipur organised its First academician-industry meet here today.
An academician-industry meet was the platform where academics (professors, researchers, scholars) and industry professionals come together to exchange knowledge, discuss collaboration opportunities, and bridge the gap between academia and industry.

Dr P. K. Chakraborty, former Member ASRB and Chief scientific advisor Dhanuka Agritech said the main objective of the meet is to provide a valuable platform for academia and industry to interact, share insights, and foster collaboration for mutual benefit. He exhorted that public-private partnership is necessary for the progress of the country. Dr. Chakraborty urged more participation from private players of industries to collaborate with the Government and support in the innovation of more refined technologies in the field of agriculture.

In introductory remarks, Dr. P.K.Ghosh, Director, ICAR-NIBSM briefed about the ready technologies for collaborative and contract research in varietal evaluation, sharing pre-bred material, DSR technologies, end-user trait specific varieties development academics can share their research findings, expertise, and insights with industry professionals.
Dr. S. K. Malhotra Former Agricultural Commissioner and Director, ICAR - DKMA emphasized that Industry academic collaboration is paramount for the commercialization of available technologies for translating immediate benefit to farmers.
Industry representatives made presentations on their product profiles and offered to have a partnership with NIBSM technologies for further commercialization.
Academician-industry meets facilitated discussions on policy implications and the practical implementation of academic research. This dialogue will help to align research outcomes with industry needs and societal challenges.
