Farmers’ meet, Inputs distribution, and Monitoring of NEH component programme organized by ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi in Arunachal Pradesh

One-day Farmers’ Meet – cum - Input Distribution Programme’ was organized by ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi in collaboration with College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh today under the promotional activities of Vegetables in NEH region.

Dr. T. K. Behera, Director, ICAR-IIVR, stressed, the linking of FPOs, Farmer Clubs, and KVKs of all the districts in producing and marketing quality vegetable seeds supplied by ICAR-IIVR so that the farmers don’t have to depend on the supply of seeds from out sources and are able to procure the same seeds from the state itself. He also emphasized harboring an entrepreneurial spirit among farmers so that they become self-sufficient in terms of income.

Farmers from Ledung, Namsing, Kiyet, Berung, Napit & Rani villages of East Siang District besides farmers belonging to nearby Indo-China boarder villages of Didu, Sukodom & Jerelling under Monigong block of ShiYomi district and Desali under Lower Dibang Valley, faculties and students from college and KVK staffs present in the meet.

In the said programme, 115 numbers of vegetable seeds” were distributed among the farmers.
