ICAR-NMRI, Hyderabad Celebrates World Intellectual Property Day 2025

ICAR- National Meat Research Institute, celebrated World Intellectual Property Day 2025 here today in hybrid mode.

Dr S.B. Barbuddhe, Director, ICAR-NMRI, briefed about the innovative technologies being developed at ICAR-NMRI to cater to the requirements of various stakeholders, the importance of protecting those research achievements of the institute through IPRs and commercialization of them.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. B. Dayakar Rao, Principal Scientist & CEO of Nutri Hub, ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad, highlighted the crucial role of IPR in startup success and stressed the need for effective technology dissemination to bridge gaps in the farming sector. He shared the success story of Nutri Hub, detailing how it built a robust ecosystem and strengthened the millet value chain, leading to increased demand and value.

This was followed by technical presentations on “Safeguarding of IP through copyrights & Industrial design”, and “Importance of patents and the process of patenting”.
