A two-day Mid-term review workshop of 24 KVKs of Bhabar & Tarai Zone, Western Plain Zone and Mid-Western Plain Zone of ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-III Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh was inaugurated.
Dr. Shantanu Kumar Dubey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur, welcomed all the guests and accentuated the details about the objective of this workshop. He highlighted that the main objective of the mid-term workshop is to prepare the action plan for Krishi Vigyan Kendras for 2024. The work done by Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the year 2023 is also being reviewed. Dr. Dubey said that all the Krishi Vigyan Kendras need to maintain proper documentation of the work done by them. He said that Heads & SMSs should work with coordination and visit villages, hold group discussions with farmers, listen to their problems and plan work according to their needs.
Dr. P.K. Singh, Director (Extension), SVPUAT, Meerut, enlighted that After hearing about the difficulties of the farmers, all of the KVKs of SVPUAT Meerut visited the villages in their region, created action plans, and worked to resolve the issues raised by the farmers.
Dr. O.P. Singh, Former Director (Extension), SVPUAT, Meerut, appealed KVK Heads & SMSs to work with coordination to take new technologies to the farmers. Farmers' needs and problems are centred on KVK activities.
After the inaugural session, 24 Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Bhabar & Tarai Zone, Western Plain Zone and Mid-Western Plain Zone of Uttar Pradesh presented the Action Plan 2024 in the technical session.
