MoU signed for adopting Sustainable Models towards the attainment of Net Zero in agriculture

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under PPP was signed today between ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata, and Inhana Organic Research Foundation (IORF), Kolkata, to provide momentum for developing a farmer-centric approach followed by pre/post evaluation of the carbon footprint to demonstrate a pathway towards creating net zero KVKs.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata and Dr. Phalguni Das Biswas, Director, IORF, signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations.

The organisations will use ACFA version-1.0 and come out with possible IP and joint publications related to Net Zero in agriculture per the MoU. This focused partnership between ICAR-ATARI and IORF will help the Subject Matter Specialist of various KVKs working in the region under the control of ICAR-ATARI will participate in technical deliberations and brainstorming sessions or hands-on training on the subject.

The diverse field helps enrich Sustainable Agriculture Carbon Computing Standard, enabling its utilisation by different stakeholders including educational institutes and corporate entities towards impact assessment of any sustainable agricultural initiative in respect of climate action and attainment of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
