ICAR-Directorate of Cold Water Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Nainital and State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Jammu jointly organized three-day training programme on Fish Breeding Techniques during 24th to 26th July, 2017 at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Main Campus Chatha, Jammu.
Dr. A.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-DCFR in his inaugural address said training programme on fish breeding especially mahseer for the officers of the J&K State fisheries Department will beneficial for the state.
Dr. K.S. Risam, Director SAMETI deliberated the importance of fisheries in enhancing the economy of farmers and conveyed the commitment of the organization for overall development of farmers of the state.
The training was attended by 30 officers of the State Fisheries department of J&K who were given exposure to scientific techniques of mahseer and carp fish breeding. An exposure visit of the participants to Fish farm, Anji of Reasi district was also organized.
