NAIP Agri-Biz Idol Camp and Incubation Workshop Inaugurated at IARI

Dr. D. Rama Rao, National Director, National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP), ICAR inaugurated the NAIP Agri-Biz Idol Camp and Incubation Workshop as Chief Guest at B.P. Pal Auditorium, IARI, New Delhi.

While addressing the scientists, students and entrepreneurs, Dr. Rao highlighted the importance of Business Planning and Development (BPD) Units and appreciated their role in development of technology and entrepreneurship for betterment of farming community. He briefed the gathering about the achievements of NAIP since its inception. Dr. Rao also inaugurated the exhibition of BPD units, where BPD units are showing new products and innovative technologies.

In his remark, Dr. H.S. Gupta, Director, IARI said that there is huge potential in agriculture sector and innovation of new technologies will enhance the entrepreneurship with income opportunities of farming community. He also launched the website of ZTM BPD of IARI on the occasion.

Dr. Sanjeev Saxena, Principal Scientist, AgrInnovate India Ltd. discussed the business opportunities in agriculture, while Dr. K.K. Narayanan, Managing Director, Metahelix made a brief presentation of the company and opportunities of entrepreneurship development in agriculture sector.

Dignitaries also released the publication of ZTM BPD, IARI on the occasion.

Earlier, Dr. Neeru Bhooshan, Project In-charge, ZTM BPD, IARI welcomed the dignitaries and briefed the gathering about the programme.

Agri-Biz Idol Camp aims to identify, support and encourage the young entrepreneurs with high potential in business start-ups in agriculture. Entrepreneurs will made presentations and share their experiences during the programme. A large number of young agripreneurs and students are participating in the event.
