One-day Interactive Session-cum-training program on Cyber Hygiene

A one-day interactive session-cum-training program was organized by ICT Unit, ICAR at Krishi Bhawan today. The training program was attended by more than fifty scientists and officers of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

At the outset, Dr. Anil Rai, Assistant Director General (ICT) in his welcome address highlighted the importance of sensitization and frequent awareness about the increasing cyberattacks to all the participants.

Shri Davinder Kumar, Sr. Consultant, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (ICCCC), Ministry of Home Affairs said the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center was established by Government of India in 2018 under Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate cybercrimes and coordinate among states and Union Territories. He also briefed about the portal www.cybercrime.gov.in and helpline No “1930” for reporting all types of cybercrimes and the importance of golden hour for minimizing losses due to cybercrime. Shri Kumar Sh Davinder Kumar highlighted the importance of “Jaagrookta se hi Suraksha” with respect to cybercrimes which are continuously evolving in the cyber space.

During the training, various important topics such as current Cyber Security threats and strategies to protect against them, Current Attack Scheme used by Hackers, Malware, Password attacks, E-mail spoofing, Critical finding found in Cyber Security Audit in Government Departments, Credit/Debit Card and safety tips, Dumpster Diving and Precautions and six pillars of cyber security were also discussed.

Shri G.P Sharma, Joint Secretary (Finance) discussed various aspects of credit card and financial frauds and recourse available to the victims within the framework.

Participants also undertook an online quiz on Cyber Hygiene after the training session.

Dr. Himanshu, Sr. Scientist & CISO and coordinator of the training program proposed a vote of thanks.
